Vaporem is a perfume brand that I created a packaging and bottle design for. I sought inspiration from gothic literature, medieval architecture, and Victorian ornamentation. I created a range of four different scents, each to occupy a distinct niche visually and conceptually as well as in the actual scent profile. I wanted to create a thematic visual throughline across multiple different time periods up to now and their interpretations of the “gothic” theme, a term made synonymous with darkness and the supernatural. I used found antique imagery in the packaging but paired it with a modern, digitally created logo. The bottle design comes from one of the most recognizable elements of gothic architecture, the ogival arch. I plan to continue to expand on this project by creating a color rendering of the bottle.
