The characters I’ve designed are for Raven Cove; a fantasy adventure webcomic. I created these characters for my capstone as I have wanted to create original characters for a project for some time. I designed 3 characters with different styles and aesthetics that reflect their personality and their character traits. The characters are a small coven of witches. Alice is a Wiccan with a goth aesthetic, she is the group’s leader with a knowledge of pagan spells, potions, and rituals. Phoebe is a Necromancer, she has a “Burtonesque” cute aesthetic and can summon ghosts, demons, and deities through her occult books. Jasmine is the group’s support character, she is spiritual and very into crystals and can absorb their powers to allow others to use them. Together they investigate strange paranormal anomalies in their small town of Raven Cove, Connecticut. My intention behind this project was to advance my illustration skills by creating characters with unique designs by reflecting their personalities through their appearance.
