Nebulous

Nebulous is a zine-format comic based on the concept of exploring different realities through dreams. The story follows Nic and her two young friends as they try to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. However, Nic receives a strange vision that causes her to recall memories from other lives and other realities, allowing her to realize that her current reality is false. She assumes that this is merely a dream, and when she wakes up she will be back in our reality, and everything will be back to normal.

The aim for this project was to improve and streamline my comic process. Although I have no plans to make this comic into a series, it has given me more experience with making a longer-form comic, and has helped me figure out the things I like and don’t like about making comics, what works and what doesn’t work for me. I hope to make more one-shot zine comics like this that I can sell online or take to events and festivals in the future. This will all help me work towards my lifelong goal of creating a full graphic novel series of my own. This comic also gives me experience with character design, environment design, and storyboarding.
