REIMAGINE Series

The REIMAGINE Series was inspired by my work at the Arizona State Legislature. During the 2024 session, the Majority ran some border reform measures. While the bills unfortunately failed, they made me think about what a special place America is. Millions of people risk their life to come here each year. With this in mind, I set about to honor those brave people in this project, flavored with my penchant for sci-fi concept art.

The Departure aims to understand the desperate situation some people leave. Through the mother and her child, we begin to understand that love is a major motivation for some immigrants; they will for the good of their family and will do anything so they have a better life.

The Hope paints an optimistic picture of the journey; in the image, you can see emergency rations scattered across the floor with empty water bottles. The living conditions are cramped, and people have to make due with the little they have. In spite of this, the little girl has not lost sight of the larger picture and is enraptured at the potential of the new world.

The Fulfillment shows joy. The family is reunited, safety is present, and all of the suffering they have endured has finally produced its greatest reward: a fulfilling life.
